(Pursuant to Section 1526 of the Real Property Tax Law Revised by L 1970 ch957) Notice is hereby given that the Assessment Roll for the Town of Lyme in the County of Jefferson for the year 2025 has been finally completed by the undersigned Assessors, and certified copy thereof filed in the office of the Town Clerk on the 1st day of July, 2025 where the same will remain open to the public for inspection until October 1st.

Grant Writer Position

The Town of Lyme is seeking a qualified and motivated Grant Writer to support municipal efforts in securing funding for key projects and community initiatives. This part-time position will play a critical role in identifying, writing, and submitting grant applications to federal, state, and private funding sources.

Special Use Language Public Hearing

Public Hearing for Town of Lyme

The Town of Lyme will be holding a Public Hearing on Wednesday June 11, 2025, at 6:15 p.m. at the Town Municipal Offices located at 12175 NYS RT 12E, Chaumont, NY to consider the proposed amendments to our Zoning Law to change the language for Special Use timeframes. The regular monthly meeting and any other business that may come before the Board will follow at 6:30 p.m. A full text of the above referenced laws are on file with the Town Clerk and may be inspected during normal business hours. All persons wishing to be heard on the issue should be present at the time and place set forth or have written comments submitted to the Town Board or Clerk prior to that date and time. Any person requiring special accommodations to participate in such Public Hearing should notify the Town Clerk at 315-649-2788 at least 3 business days prior to the hearing.

Notice Concerning the Examination of Assessment 

Inventory and Valuation Data (Pursuant to Section 501 of the Real Property Tax Law)

Notice is hereby given that assessment inventory and valuation data is available for examination and review. This data is the information which will be used to establish the assessment of each parcel which will appear on the Tentative Assessment Roll of the Town of Lyme which will be filed on or before May 1st, 2025.The information may be reviewed, by appointment, in the Assessor’s Office at 12175 NYS Rt 12E, Chaumont, NY 13622 on May 7,13,14 between the hours of 10 am and 2pm and on May 17 between the hours of 4 pm and 8pm by appointment only. An appointment to review the assessment information may be made by telephoning the assessor at (315) 649-2387.

HEARING OF COMPLAINTS

Notice is hereby given that the Assessor of the Town of Lyme County of Jefferson, has completed the Tentative Assessment Roll for the current year; that a copy thereof has been left with the Town Clerk at 12175 NYS Rt 12E, Chaumont, NY 13622 where it may be seen and examined by any person interested therein during the hours and date following: May 7,13, and 14 between 10am and 2pm, May 17 between the hours of 4pm and 8pm by appointment only. On “FOURTH TUESDAY OF MAY NEXT,” The Board of Assessment Review will meet between the hours of 12:30pm and 4:30pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at 12175 NYS Rt 12E, Chaumont, NY 13622 to hear and examine all complaints in relation to such assessments, on the application of any person believing himself aggrieved hereby.
